LA GRANDE PROVENCE
CONDOMINIUM ASSOCIATION, INC.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
OCTOBER 19, 2015
Bob Cory called the meeting to order at 1:00pm.
In attendance were Dave Yoder, Bob Mathis, Dave Luenzmann and Jeanne Kiley, representing a quorum; Karen Hopkins and Lea Stokes were also present representing Preferred Management Services. There were 9 guests.
The September 15, 2015 Board Minutes were approved.
Bob Cory made a request pertaining to “nasty-grams” (complaints from owners)
He is requesting that if you have a complaint that is expressed in the form of a unnecessarily nasty e-mail, please note it in the subject box as “Complaint”.
This will automatically be forwarded to a Board member for a response. Our staff is too busy to be bogged down in negativity and your complaint will be responded to. We are ALL trying to make advances at LGP and your Board puts in a great deal of time doing so. Your “nasty-grams” are unwarranted but will be responded to preferably in person, face to face.
Due to the difficulties experienced at our pool this past summer, the Board discussed a variety of steps that could be taken to avoid future re-occurrences.
Some suggestions included: Changes to our pool signs, increasing the number of pool signs, hiring a pool monitor for week-end duty from Memorial Day through Labor Day, ID bracelets and pool hours. Further review is needed before a final decision is made. Karen passed around the latest results from the County Health Inspector showing no violations and a Satisfactory overall rating. We were falsely accused by one of our owners of having a mold/algae problem that turned out to be a build-up of body lotions.
COMPLIANCE COMMITTEE/FINES & VIOLATIONS
The Board received a memo from Lea Stokes that spoke to the proper procedure for implementing fines & violations. This discussion was not meant to be made in connection with the previous discussion of pool issues.
The handicapped ramp at Building I is in need of repair; as a temporary measure, Karen received an estimate of $600.00 to have the area caulked to prevent further sinking. Concrete replacement is also needed to cover another area of approximately 120 feet for a total of $1,700.00. A motion was made and passed to have the necessary work done.
Due to Karen’s diligence, we received a 2 year credit on our pool heater maintenance contract.
The meeting adjourned at 2:15pm.
