LA GRANDE PROVENCE
CONDOMINIUM ASSOCIATION, INC.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
JULY 27, 2015
Bob Cory called the meeting to order at 12:30pm.
Board members in attendance were Bob Cory, Dave Yoder and via telephone Barbara Cooledge and Dave Luenzmann representing a quorum. There were several owners in attendance. Preferred Management Services was represented by Karen Hopkins.
The minutes of the June 22, 2015 Board meeting were approved.
Bob Cory opened the meeting by asking the Board members if they had the opportunity to think about any short term (quickest to implement) fixes for the problems on the pool deck. The addition of a pool monitor, addition of more specific pool rules, changing the order of the rules as they appear on the sign, changing the location of the sign to be at eye level, making the print on the sign stand out more and adding another sign to the pool deck were some of the ideas suggested by the Board.
While discussing what steps are to be taken should there be a problem at the pool, Bob Cory suggested that our owners should call Preferred Management Services. He will speak to Lea Stokes and if viable that telephone number will be added to the pool rules sign.
Bob Cory also shared information that he gathered on having cameras mounted to surveil the pool deck 24/7. Also discussed were the issues of the salt air corrosion, where to mount the cameras, the wiring involved and the cost involved. There was some discussion of cost of cameras vs. the cost of a pool monitor.
There were additional suggestions from owners in attendance regarding pool rules such as no smoking and limiting the size of inflatable toys. A sign in sheet was suggested and the addition of card key readers or fobs to enter the pool deck with a substantial deposit to get them for family members. The deposit will be returned when the card/fob is returned. The card/fob will electronically record the users/owners name and condo number. The deposit will be returned when the card/fob is returned in working condition.
Other items discussed were fines, limitations on fines, fining committees and looking into cabanas.
Dave Yoder suggested that we start with new signs with the addition of several more regulations and a pool monitor for weekends only.
The Board will address the “saving” of lounge chairs by owners/guests that come down to the pool deck early and reserve lounges by placing their towels on them.
When the Board addresses this issue it will be enforced by the pool monitor. The pool monitor will also see to it that everyone on the pool deck will sign in.
Once all additional rules are passed by the Board at a future meeting, an e-mail and notification via USPS will be mailed to all owners so that they are familiar with ALL the pool rules and can pass these along to their family and guests.
A motion was made to hire a pool monitor to work weekends and holidays and report daily on pool activities. It was seconded and passed unanimously.
Bob Corey commented that he was glad to see such a productive group of owners in attendance.
There being no further business to bring before the Board, a motion was made & passed to adjourn the meeting at 1:40pm
